Don’t Miss the Santa Fe Fiesta 300th Anniversary

Check out this fictional book that takes place during the Santa Fe Fiesta.

Santa Fe Fiesta is in full swing, and it’s truly a reason to celebrate. Our Fiesta is the oldest continuous community celebration in the United States, and this is the 300th anniversary! This is one more great benefit of being a resident of Santa Fe.

History of the Santa Fe Fiesta

A  1712 proclamation  calls for a yearly celebration to commemorate the peaceful reoccupation of Santa Fe from the Pueblo Indians. Don Diego De Vargas led his troops successfully into the city in 1692. De Vargas attributed the victory to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, to whom he prayed for triumph. Thus, the Santa Fe Fiesta is rich with religious ceremonies as well as many other events that portray the cultural and historic background of the great City of the Holy Faith.
