Who’s Ready For A Bike Ride?

bike ride

Register on either Saturday, May 17th or Sunday, May 18th for the 29th annual Santa Fe Century Bike Ride. You can take part in the 20 Mile Ride, the Half-Century ride, or the Century ride. This experience is not a race – it’s just a fun bike ride for those who enjoy touring our beautiful Santa Fe sceneries through rural and historic areas.

The 20-Mile Ride will take riders on Old Las Vegas Highway this year. The route has easy to moderate hills, and your bike must have gears that are able to manipulate the moderate hills. You must also have an approved ANSI helmet, and be in good physical shape. This course is recommended for beginner cyclists.

If you have already tried a 20-mile ride and would like more of a challenge, try the Half Century Ride. Consisting of a 50-mile ride on moderate hills, you may want to try some trial runs before attempting this course. Lamy Hill is a part of the loop in this ride, and does require some endurance. You also must have an approved ANSI helmet, a tire patch or tire repair kit, spare tube, a tire pump and extra water or sports drinks.

The Century Ride is 103 miles long, and will lead you through some beautiful areas such as Stagecoach Pass and Heartbreak Hill. This ride is designed for the rider who has trained for this event – as there are many hills and is much more challenging. For this ride, you must have an approved ANSI helmet, a tire patch or tire repair kit, spare tube, a tire pump and extra water or sports drinks.

If you love to take bicycle rides throughout Santa Fe, and would like more information on registering for one of the rides, please contact Santa Fe Century Bike Ride.
